Located near Praça Marquês de Pombal, this transformation project adapted a formerly office-dominated building into a residential development, while maintaining commercial spaces on the ground floor. This intervention revitalizes the area by introducing housing, aligning the structure with contemporary urban living.
The architectural approach required a significant façade redesign, integrating a new “skin” composed of aluminum elements in a champagne tone. This addition enhances verticality and introduces depth through a rhythmic interplay of light and shadow. By setting back the original façade, balconies were created to optimize views over Parque Eduardo VII while improving the building’s energy efficiency.
The rooftop was reimagined with the construction of an additional floor and an exterior terrace, offering panoramic city views. The project preserves the existing concrete structure and vertical circulation cores, organizing the interior into 17 apartments across various typologies, reinforcing its integration into the city's evolving landscape.*
