2005 - The passing of the torch to a new generation was expressed through the furniture project, with the adaptation of a set of pieces designed by Daciano da Costa in the 1960s and 1970s for their installation, in 2005, at Rem Koolhaas' Casa da Música.

The continuity of the studio's tradition is not so much expressed in the appearance of the projects—these are not drawn “in the manner of…”—but rather in the attention given to the practice of design, in the relationship with processes, which corresponds to an understanding and development of that heritage.

It is, to a large extent, through the survival of some of these practices that we can attempt to recognize the vitality of this legacy. There is an effort to maintain a space of slowness: the tradition of a certain craftsmanship in the relationship with the project, in interpersonal relationships, in the pursuit of teamwork and dialogue. The research process involves the creation of study models, but also material palettes, which, through the juxtaposition of real material samples, relate colors and textures, highlight contrasts, and propose harmonious relationships. It also involves the development of materials that go beyond the most obvious and immediate offerings of the market.

2011 Establishment of Ana Costa Arquitetura e Design.
The São Paulo studio was established in 2011, within the context of a new project whose scale and demands led to the relocation of part of the architectural team. The need to explore new markets coincided with the opportunity to immerse in another culture, share knowledge, and establish new roots.

It was at this moment that Ana Costa Arquitetura was founded, marking the beginning of a new phase of authorial work and its own identity.
In parallel, Daciano da Costa Arquitetura e Design became an independent brand, dedicated exclusively to the preservation, research, and re-edition of Daciano da Costa’s legacy.
